planning new movie (opening)

 

Title: Apt. 42

Characters: Caregiver/nurse – leaning towards female middle aged // Killer – male, younger // Old man – dead

Set in: England, London (maybe) 

Potential opening:

1)    Camera starts with following blood trail and destruction in a domestic household that has been destroyed with upturned tables etc.

2)    Hearing distant shouting in another room and a voiceover kicks in of caretaker (audience don’t know who it is yet) reading out the description of marriage (maybe)

3)    Camera gets closer to shouting and it gets more intense as camera starts to pan up to people shouting stops and audience hears a thud of a body maybe

4)    Cuts to a man or woman in a nurse uniform

5)    Caregiver walks up to old man lying on a hospital bed which is in an apartment

6)    She/he starts to talk to him in a friendly manner, he doesn’t reply

7)    she/he whips round looking worried and walks up to old man and gently shakes him

8)    he doesn’t move so the caregiver checks pulse he/she has worried look on face

9)    the caregiver runs to phone (to call 999)

10)  caregiver hears screaming and shouting (distant)

11)  caregiver hesitates to call and goes to look out window

12)  caregiver scans windows in neighbouring apartment

13)  caregiver spots a person heavily breathing with blood on face holding camera

14)  phone drops on floor (smashes)

15)  she closes window quickly and sporadically (making noise)

16)  killer person whips round and spots the caregiver and the caregiver looks at the killer (they make eye contact)

17) cuts to VHS type footage also looking at woman (handheld)

18)  intensifies starts to go fuzzy, camera cuts to black in a way that looks like an old TV turning off
